We have been busy helping scientists and clinicians understand hydrocephalus. Our work is leading to increased awareness in this disease and we continue to be on the cutting edge of surgical treatment, research, and genetic studies. Some of our work is as follows.

  • 2015 - Hydrocephalus : Understanding Genes and Signaling (HUGS) national genetics study with  Hydrocephalus Association, Seattle Children’s Hospital, University of Washington.

  • 2014 - Burroughs Wellcome Career Award for Medical Scientist (CAMS): institutional nominee Dr. Timothy Vogel

  • 2014 - Neurosurgeon Research Career Development Program (NRCDP) / NIH K12 award, NINDS, NIH, and
    Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

  • 2013 - Hydrocephalus Association’s CSF Production, Flow and Regulation, Therapeutics and
    Diagnostics Award. Awarded for innovative research in hydrocephalus

  • 2013 - National Pediatric Innovation Summit, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA.

  • 2012 - Our research group recognized by the leading medical journal, Nature Medicine, for innovative study in neural stem cells contributing to hydrocephalus.

  • 2010 - Timothy W. Vogel recognized as one of the top hydrocephalus researchers in the nation by the American Society of Human Genetics.
